These tunes were penned when Taylor Swift was in her teens, so the subject matter mostly revolves around the kinds of things that blonde high school girls obsess over: boys. What's impressive is that she wrote these songs without any help from Nashville's equivalent to Hollywood's "casting couch." Her tunes are garnished with some of Music City's A-list session players, and the result is a collection of vibrant, passionate and (somewhat) innocent reflections of a girl whose heart swells for country music almost as much as it does for the homecoming king.
